An American citizen was charged with insulting a Singapore judge Monday on his blog. Court documents claim that he said she was "prostituting herself". In his blog, Gapalan Nair criticised a recent hearing on a defamation case. In the case, the founding father Lee Kuan Yew and his son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong testified against an opposition party.
If convicted, Nair, a former Singaporean lawyer now based in California, faces up to one year in prison and a 5,000 dollar (3,630 US) fine.
